Exploring the Original Batcave in Griffith Park
GRIFFITH PARK | LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
If you have ever seen the Batman series from the 60s, then you have probably seen the Batcave. It is located in Griffith Park and just a short one-half mile walk from the parking lot.
GETTING TO CAMP HOLLYWOOD LAND
Griffith Park is huge and there are tons of trails but the batcave trail is easy to find. You can just put Camp Hollywoodland into Google Maps or follow Canyon Dr. to the end, just off of Franklin Ave. Look for the Camp Hollywoodland sign and the trail starts just across the street from the parking lot.
GETTING TO THE BATCAVE
The trail is just a short, half-mile walk that is relatively flat and well-groomed. As you come around the corner, there is a man-made cave that once served as the original Batcave. These caves are officially called the Bronson Caves, named for a nearby road. They have been used not only as the Batcave, but in many movies, small and large.
EXPLORING THE BATCAVE
There are three entrances to the cave. The first entrance that you come to leads you into the cave that is only around 100 feet deep. Once inside, the cave splits with two exits out the back side. Outside the back of the cave is a small canyon with a nice view of the historic Hollywood sign. There are many more trails to explore throughout the park that can give you plenty to after you explore the Batcave. Have you ever been to the Batcave? What other iconic sites have you explored?
